Context is everything.
Have you ever tried learning a concept that you thought was too complex and wondered if you could ever figure it out?
I was watching the first episode of the Mind the Game Pod with LeBron James and JJ Redick. LeBron was asked what makes a great player. The first thing he said was, "Know the history of the game."
He was talking about context.
Do you know the history to understand your place in it?
How the game has evolved?
How conditioning has progressed?
Why the rules are the way they are?
How can you maximize your abilities by looking at those that came before you?
Know the context and you will begin to understand.
